Topics:  

 expository text features, academic vocabulary for expository text, important social issues, identifying the controlling idea and most important supporting details, and using connotation to understand the author's purpose and important vocabulary within a text

Activities:  

1.  Review Grocery Shopping questions and expository features
2.  NEWSELA articles & quizzes--submit quizzes & review reading levels--choose vocabulary words from articles
3.  Submit quizzes for at least 3 articles.  
4.  Complete "Expository Article Close Reading"  for an article you select (answer in complete sentences)
5.  My Vocabulary Booklet due December 10th
